How I Turn Free AI Videos Into Newsletter Growth
Use this free YouTube feature to create AI content that actually grows your list.
đź‘‹ Welcome Back to DG Mastery
This week, I want to show you a simple way to create short-form AI videos — for free — using just your phone.
You can use this to experiment with content, test creative ideas, and start building an audience… even if you’re starting from zero.
We’ll walk through:
How to generate AI videos using Veo 2 for free
How to generate traffic from those videos to your Beehiiv newsletter
A lean setup you can build on — no overwhelm, no overthinking
Let’s dive in! 👇

🎬 Create AI Videos with Veo 2 Inside YouTube Shorts
Veo 2 is Google’s AI video generator, now built into YouTube Shorts via a feature called Dream Screen.
You type a prompt, and it generates a short video based on your input — right inside the YouTube app.
Currently available in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
â–¶ Option 1: AI-Generated Video Backgrounds
Open the YouTube app
Tap the Create (+) icon → Choose Create a Short
Select Green Screen → Then Dream Screen
Type a prompt like: “Tropical beach at sunset, cinematic 18mm lens”
Pick a thumbnail → YouTube generates the AI background
Record your video in front of it → Add text or music
Post your Short
â–¶ Option 2: Standalone AI Video Clips
Tap Create a Short → Tap Add → Tap Create
Type a prompt like: “A futuristic library being built in time-lapse”
Pick your favorite thumbnail → Tap Create Video
Add it to your timeline → Edit, preview, and publish

🧠Keep It Simple: Stack AI Clips, Add Text, and Build Consistency
You can use the Add button in the Shorts editor to keep stacking clips — whether it’s multiple Veo videos or a mix of real footage and AI.
Inside the app, you can:
Add text
Record voiceovers
Add music and effects
Rearrange scenes
What used to take hours now takes a few minutes — and it’s all from your phone.
Keep posting interesting content this way, and be sure to:
Add a CTA to your profile or pin it in the comments
Link to your Beehiiv newsletter so viewers know where to go next
As you stay consistent, traffic starts to flow naturally. People who enjoy your Shorts will want more — and that’s where your newsletter comes in.
This works in any niche: AI, tech, fashion, storytelling, education, productivity.
And it’s 100% free to start.
💡 Example Flow: Short → Email List
Let’s say you create an eye-catching Veo 2 video using a prompt like:
“A glowing AI-powered robot writing code in a neon-lit lab.”
You overlay some text and add a quick voiceover saying:
“Just found a tool that can [insert cool feature].”
Then, include a clear call-to-action:
“Check the link in the pinned comment if you want to try it.”
That link can go anywhere — your Beehiiv newsletter, a Notion guide, a landing page, or an affiliate link to a product you use.
It’s a simple way to turn your content into relevant traffic — and you’re not selling anything. You’re just showing something interesting, and letting curiosity do the work.
This flow works especially well when paired with short, helpful content that builds trust over time.
