Every creator needs this (but many have overlooked it)

Overwhelmed by AI? Here's how to cut through the noise.

👋 Hey there,

Can we talk about something that's been on my mind lately?

I keep seeing creators pour their hearts into content, build massive followings, and then struggle to turn that into real income or lasting connections.

They're doing everything right - great content, consistent posting, engaging with their community. But there's one piece missing that makes all the difference.

Here's what I've learned:

Social media is amazing for discovery and building your brand. But at the end of the day, those followers belong to the platform, not to you.

An email list? That's actually yours. It's your direct line to the people who genuinely care about what you're creating.

Let’s dive in! 👇

🧠 Why Emails Works So Well for Creators

  • You control the conversation. No algorithm decides who sees your message.

  • People actually pay attention. Your Instagram post might get lost in the scroll and whether or not the content even reaches your followers is at the mercy of the app but emails land right in their inbox.

  • It creates real income opportunities. Tools like Beehiiv Boosts literally pay you when your subscribers sign up for other newsletters. It's like getting paid to have an email list.

  • You can build deeper relationships. You can share your common interests and any exciting or useful information with your audience directly. Set up a welcome sequence once, and every new subscriber gets the VIP treatment automatically.

My Go-To Recommendation To Build Your Email List

I've tried a bunch of email platforms. Beehiiv just makes sense for creators. It's free to start, makes it easy to track your analytics, doesn't make you feel like you need a computer science degree, and grows with you.

Here's my suggestion: once you're getting 5-10 new email subscribers daily, that's when you upgrade to paid. If done right, the automation and monetization features will pay for the cost of the tool.

Your game plan (keep it simple):

Step 1: Create something people actually want. This is where most creators get stuck - they think they need to spend days designing in Canva, writing in Google Docs, then figuring out WordPress hosting and email collection. It becomes this overwhelming project that never gets finished.

That's exactly why I use LeadCreator for all my lead magnets (including my Creator Toolkit). One login, one dashboard - you can create, host, track, and deliver everything in about 30 minutes instead of 3 days. When it's that simple, you'll actually do it consistently.

Step 2: Make it easy to sign up. I have found the comment strategy to be extremely effective - ask people to comment a specific word, then DM them the link. It also helps boost the engagement on your video. You could also add the link in your bio. Both work depending on the social platform.

Step 3: Focus on delivering real value first. Write like you're texting a friend who actually wants to hear from you, not like you're reading from a sales script. When people genuinely benefit from your emails, everything else becomes easier.

Step 4: Stay consistent. Every piece of content you create should mention your lead magnet somehow to ensure you’re continuously building your list. It's your biggest asset.

Here's the mindset shift that small creators need to make:

You don't need thousands of views to make list-building worth it. Even 100 views can turn into 3-10 email signups if you do it right. And when creating lead magnets takes 15-30 minutes instead of 3 days, it suddenly makes perfect sense to pair one with every video, post, or story - no matter your audience size.

That's how micro-creators finally turn their trickle of traffic into consistent, growing leads.
